Everything on the Web can—and should—be tracked. You can’t win the game if you don’t know the score. Capturing more accurate and granular information about the performance of each of your marketing strategies (traditional and online advertising) allows you to see opportunities and problem areas your competitors cannot. Your new marketing mantra should be: TRACK > TEST > TWEAK > REPEAT.
Hi Pawan, what a fantastic compilation! I know what i’ll be doing this week – checking out the items on your list! Thanks so much for sharing. My I suggest an add to your list – CrossCap Marketing Calendar Software – omni-channel marketing calendar that allows marketing stakeholders to collaborate and outline strategy, execute initiatives, and track performance in a single system. Feel free to check it out: https://www.crosscap.com/marketing-calendar
Today we’re all about social media marketing, search engine optimization, and whatever other buzzword you can think of. But the truth is, there is no other channel that will give you a better return on investment than email. According to Adobe, for every $1 spent on email, the average ROI is $40. That’s almost double the return of SEO, the second-highest channel.
First we have our exit intent pop-up, also known as a hover pop-up, which we use to help with our bounce rate. They appear almost exactly a minute after you come onto our site, which studies have shown to be the optimum time for conversion. While these can be annoying, the key to this style of pop-up is to use a lead magnet that offers an unbelievable amount of value. That’s why we offer people the option to sign up to our masterclasses.
These are the top three results for a drip coffee maker. If you were selling this product you would want to beat out your competition in order to get into one of the top spots. This may take some time because these websites that are ranking seem to have a lot of power. You may not be able to rank for this keyword, but keyword research will help you strategize and find those keywords that you will be able to rank for.
Wow, this is the most comprehensive list of tools i’ve come across. Thanks for pulling it together! One more category you may want to consider is something like “agency sourcing tools.” There are a number of platforms out there, including http://www.AgencyLoft.com, which are designed to help marketers find and connect with marketing agencies. Just a thought. Thanks! Oh, and I just bookmarked this page!
Businesses of all sizes have the opportunity to build their own audience (something you can own as opposed to renting). To build an audience, you need to create great content—content that delivers genuine value to your target market. To become an authority, you have to focus on your customers—not your competitors. Decide who you want to serve and then be THE best—stay out of the middle (avoid mediocrity like the plague). You can win by serving hot tea and you can win by serving ice tea. You can’t win by serving luke warm tea!
Altimeter. In April of 2013, Rebecca Lieb of Altimeter started a list of 15 content marketing vendors. We were flattered to have Curata included in the initial list. More recently, Altimeter has published a content marketing vendor landscape which includes over 100 content marketing tools. However, the list does not include some of the broader categories we have included here.

Our site makes use of our proprietary SmartScore™ method to analyze all the software in the Marketing Software category to help you pick the best possible software. It compares and contrasts the following factors: individual components, collaboration features, customization, available integrations, user friendliness, help & support, how secure a software is, mobile support, scores in other media. Currently, HubSpot Marketing is the leader in this category and is recommended by our experts. Following detailed evaluation it received the best results among its competitors and we strongly suggest that you consider it as one of the alternatives for your business.
Paid search, display and programmatic strategies should address your entire customer journey, capturing audiences when and where they’re most likely to act. Well beyond impressions, average cost-per-click and conversions, our paid media experts build and optimize revenue-focused strategies that achieve your business goals. That means identifying high-value customer segments, understanding channel influence on customer conversion, and balancing machine learning with human expertise.

This post reminds me of when I used to do marketing dance clubs and bars. Often time the owners of the bars had no idea about owning a bar, they were self employed contractors with a skill that made them alot of money. Most times than not, their Bar or Club venture did not. In marketing their venture they would take a shot gun approach and try and advertise it as everything to everyone! So every night of the week they had a special thing. I would say look you are a contractor and you do plumbing right. You don’t do carpentry or lay carpet. No would be the answer but I could! (They are always the entrepeneur.) I would say thats fine, but would you advertise that you are the best carpenter in the land and everyone should call you Joe the Plumber over Joe the carpenter? No would be the reply! If you are going to go into a new venture be it entertainment mogul or house building pick one aspect of that business and do that well. Don’t be the everything to everybody!
While Internet marketing can mean different things to different people, it's almost always about communicating with potential and existing customers about your company, products and what you can do for them. Some tools provide just a few features, such as email marketing and/or marketing automation. Others are more robust, providing complete platforms referred to as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software or tools. The primary goal of any of these offerings is typically to convert customer communications into sales, but that's not the only piece of the puzzle.
3. Develop regular e-newsletters and announcements to inform and keep up to date with current and potential customers (but only those who ask for them). A properly executed newsletter campaign can help your business retain existing customers and attract new ones. Routinely sending out informational content that your newsletter subscribers find valuable is another excellent way to build a level of trust with them while continually establishing yourself as an expert in your product or service area. Over time, your recipients will be increasingly likely to recommend your products or services to others. A newsletter can also be used to announce special promotions and sales. A recent Doubleclick survey of more than 1,000 Internet users found that more than 82 percent of them had made a purchase online during the past year as a result of some sort of advertisement they received through email. The study revealed, however, that people were much more receptive to email from companies with whom they already had a relationship.
I’ll never forget the fun we had at those NFL celebrations at Regent Street in London, a couple of years back. My sister and I took part in a couple of games, one of which required yelling some American Football words at the top of our voices, and our mum was certain we were going to nail this. Sure this sounds supportive, but our mum’s focus was on “yelling”. Joke’s on her, we failed miserably (…we only caught “quarterback” out of all the words).
Now that you’re all set up to starting collecting emails, the fun part begins (when I say ‘fun’, I actually mean ‘hard’). If your site receives a good amount of traffic and you have a truly compelling offer, this shouldn’t be too difficult. However, if you’re like most business owners, you’ll need to look outside your own audience to start building your list.
All in all, the combination of highly targeted Facebook ads, lead magnets, and automated email sequences is an incredibly powerful combination that will allow you to grow your business. Just remember: an email in itself isn’t worth anything. A targeted, loyal customer is what you want—and you attract those customers by providing them something of value.

Understanding the basic demographics of your customer is the first step in the audience creation process. Your next step should be to understand your customers’ lifestyles, purchase behaviors, and current interests. By truly knowing your customer, you are then able to build out a multi-channel targeting strategy comprehensive of not only basic demographics and past behavioral data, but current behavioral trends that lead to individuals who are in market for a product or service. This reduces irrelevant marketing to individuals who may have the demographic characteristics, but are not yet in market. Overall, creating a relevant target audience saves media spend by focusing on targeting tactics that have a higher potential for success.
I would like to share with you some other thoughts in email marketing. It is utmost important to have direct “live chat” functions in the email marketing. I co-found 2ConnectMe live chat tools https://www.2connectme.com which empower email marketer to include “Click-To-Call” button or url link inside the email. When customer click-to-call, it will reach your private chat room. The chat room comes with voice call, video call and screen share. They are 100% FREE.
Wow, ultimate list indeed! Thank you for this! You might also want to add MyConversionBrain ( http://www.myconversionbrain.com ) to this list. I find their lead management and conversion automation platform very easy to use. It’s an ideal interface for me, as I’m not too savvy when it comes to technology! 🙂 I think, the best feature of MyConversionBrain is that they’re based on Intelligent Marketing. They’re able to track leads and identify the person behind it, their geo location, ip address etc. so you’ll know if a competitor is sending out fake enquiries. Knowing more about the people who visit my site allows me to understand what they need. I even get alerted when a person comes back to my site, which makes our follow-up’s much organized. Lots of great features to help me boost the ROI on my marketing investments. MyConversionBrain has incredibly improved my small jewelry business, and I know it’ll also do wonders for other businesses too, especially the small business ones.
I’m looking for a tool to create educational/informational videos for our staff. We used a company for this, which charged a simple subscription fee for access to all the available tools. It allowed us to choose certain characters and voice styles and we had control over the dialog and movements of the characters. It was a little cheesy and the voices were a bit mechanical and at times mispronounced words that were not well known but it was effective. Unfortunately, this company is out of business and I’m looking for a replacement. Whiteboard and charts and graphics may work for marketing or a customer base but usually not engaging for employees. Any suggestions?
People love stories and can relate to them. A blog is a more serious business, but I have often felt that Matthew used the power of storytelling amply on his blog. By creating a video series of Tiered Link building tutorials, he made people come back for more. For more months than I can count these tutorials were the most shared and visited items on his blog.

There are many popular marketing solutions on the market, and it can be hard to know what distinguishes one product from another and which is right for you. To help you better understand how the top marketing systems stack up against one another, we created a series of side-by-side product comparison pages that break down the details of what each solution offers in terms of pricing, applications, ease of use, support and more:

What if your customers created great content for free… and this improved your rankings…. and organically added valuable current and relevant content to your web presence? Don’t pinch yourself, this is not a dream, I created RevuCue.com and I have proven it does exactly that!! (and I am not a content writer as you might be able to tell but I do have some folks that do their best at it…)

It used to be you would have only one lead magnet on your site and that was sufficient. However, today your content and nurture sequence need to be highly relevant to the exact solution the person is actively looking for. By creating a content upgrade that is specific to a highly-targeted piece of content that is getting lots of attention helps you to raise that relevancy and turn more visitors into email subscribers.”
