Many people believe that marketers with the biggest email lists make the most money. This is not necessarily true. The size of your list is not as important as the relationship you build with your list. Make sure you have a system in place that converts your website visitors into email subscribers. Then, give your subscribers a ton of value that helps them solve their problem. This helps you to earn their trust over time. When they trust you, they will buy from you. Your relationship with your subscribers is more important than the number of subscribers you have.
However, the targeting available in social media and search engine advertising can make it a great value. You can reach exactly the right people, and measure the effectiveness of your campaign with more precision than traditional advertising channels. Google Adwords and Facebook Ads are two of the biggest advertising platforms, but your organization may benefit from more specialized or smaller platforms as well.
How to videos, tutorials or educational content are fantastic ways to engage with your target market and keep your customers happy. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on expensive equipment – simply shoot a tutorial on your phone and quickly edit and cut using a video marketing tool like Clipchamp Create. If you’re showing software or web content, you can screencast to record what happens on screen.
Why It Is Important: “With the complex workings of an agency, we couldn’t live without setting up complex task logic (repeating tasks automatically, assigning multiple people to complete a task, task dependencies), creating milestones for important dates and time tracking for accurate client billing. In addition to the typical project management features like being able to see which tasks are ahead / behind, keeping all of project messages in one place and organizing all our important documents, Teamwork helps us manage how we’re using other tools and how we’re managing our time for peak performance!”

Offline events like trade shows are highly anticipated growth opportunities for professionals in your industry. Demo your latest product at an appropriate conference and collect signups in-person. Once you're back at the office, import these signups into your contact database. Be sure to send these contacts a welcome email that confirms their opt-in to your list. (See #8 in this blog post for tips on sending welcome emails.)

The Offer Finally, if/when you send out those “money” emails (especially for re-marketing purposes, which we will discuss later on), you need to test out offers. An extra 15-days to try the product, or a $10 discount for being on the newsletter? Should you offer an incentive to those who have signed up but haven’t gotten started with your product, or just send a reminder? Find out the answers with split-testing!
PPC stands for “pay per click” and is attributed to Google’s search and display ads. When you run these ads on Google, you pay a set price each time someone clicks on your advertisement. You will need to come up with a keyword strategy that aligns with your business. There is a lot that goes into a keyword strategy like choosing words with high search volume that have a low cost per click. When Google users search your target keywords your ads will appear. With PPC you have the power to create your own ads and you are also in full control of your budget. Some keywords are relatively inexpensive per click like “men’s t-shirts” at $1.70 per click whereas some are extremely expensive like “car accident lawyers” at $209 per click.
Do you have an older list that you suspect has mostly decayed? Create an engaging opt-in message and send it to your old list encouraging contacts who wish to re-opt-in -- promising to remove all contacts who don't respond. Though it might seem counterintuitive to remove folks from your email lists in order to grow them, emailing only engaged contacts could improve your deliverability and increase the odds of your email getting shared with those outside your current contacts database.
Let’s say you pay $500 for a billboard (this is excluding the amount you would pay for someone to design it) there is no way of lowering this cost. With Facebook you can spend a small amount each month and rapidly increase your audience and receive all of this data that you can use to make your campaign stronger. By “small amount” we mean $10. Yes you can actually grow by spending only $10 a month!
Creating definable, executable goals, achievable one to-do-list item at a time, not only chips away at the larger project, but also provides the continuity and momentum essential to achieving long-term goals. As grand as anyone’s ambitions may be, they can only be realized one day–one task–at a time. The notion of defining goals and action items and writing them down (which increases our accountability to ourselves for executing those items), then following through in eay-to-digest 15 minute increments, is the perfect recipe for sustainable progress toward any goal.
