What I Used Before This: “We used Basecamp 2 before switching to Teamwork. From recurring tasks to reporting features to deadlines, we saw an opportunity to do more with the features and the integrations that Teamwork has. Do you have an older list that you suspect has mostly decayed? Create an engaging opt-in message and send it to your old list encouraging contacts who wish to re-opt-in -- promising to remove all contacts who don't respond. Though it might seem counterintuitive to remove folks from your email lists in order to grow them, emailing only engaged contacts could improve your deliverability and increase the odds of your email getting shared with those outside your current contacts database.

Indeed, ultimately, the internal pressures are ultimately the deciding factor. On your website you can also use clever calls to action or CTA’s to entice users to buy. CTA’s are typically action buttons that tell customers what you want them to do like buy, like, share or contact you. You can’t really link your newspaper advertisement to more information. Everything on your site is right there ready for your customers to purchase. If they see an ad in the newspaper they have to physically go take action and probably be reminded to do so several times (and then they still may not take action).

But affiliates can be very guarded when it comes to their mailing list, we can’t blame them because we jealously protect our own email list too. When it comes to asking someone to promote you over their highly valuable email list you have to make sure that you’re offering them and their audience something that’s worth their time. Which is why we we strove to make sure our lead magnets were as valuable as possible so that their audience wouldn’t see this cross-promotion as spam, but something that’s worth their time.
