Offline events like trade shows are highly anticipated growth opportunities for professionals in your industry. Demo your latest product at an appropriate conference and collect signups in-person. Once you're back at the office, import these signups into your contact database. Be sure to send these contacts a welcome email that confirms their opt-in to your list. (See #8 in this blog post for tips on sending welcome emails.)
The business card will never die so make sure you invest in a great one and hand it out wherever you go. Print ads (newsletters, newspapers, magazine, flyers, brochures) may not be as popular in this digital age so when you do use them make them impactive by adding coupons and events your hosting with free products and/or services. Billboards are still a great tool for marketing as well. T.V.commercials and radio spots with catchy jingles, memorable characters and slogans can go along way.

If you haven’t yet started building an email list (but know you need to), this article is for you. You may have heard that a strong email list is one of the most valuable assets you can have, but when you’re starting from scratch, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. This is partly because many business owners have a hard time envisioning the long-term payoff for the hard work they need to do now.
Pawan, this is a great list. Some tools I know, some I’m trying out (like Drupal) and others I have yet to try. I will humbly add proofhub to this list in a Content Collaboration Tools category…another platform that is great to work collaboratively and efficiently. It allow us to receive real-time messages, assign tasks, start discussions, file sharing and more.
Though this is a “curated” list, Curata really helps with persistent search where you are researching and staying on top of a specific topic over a long period of time, as opposed to a one time act of curation. So for example, if we wanted to build a newsletter, site, etc… about product updates of the tools in the above list over a long period of time, Curata would be tremendously useful.
2. Use content to get repeat visitors to your site, not flashiness. Rich media, such as flashy graphics and audio, may impress your visitors the first time they see your site, but they are unlikely to come back for it (or recommend your site to others because of it). If repeat visitors (meaning potential customers) are your goal, you are much more likely to get them to return if your site offers content that they find valuable (and with any luck, indispensable). This helps to establish your company as an expert in your field while building a level of trust with your visitors.
There’s an old saying that when the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem tends to look like a nail. Fight that kind of thinking as much as you can. Your plan may call for expertise you don’t have, or actions you aren’t very good at. So make some room in your plan to partner with someone else. If you’re great at connecting with customers but lousy at technology, find a partner whose strengths and weaknesses perfectly complement yours. Believe me, that person is out there and wants desperately to work with you.
Marketo is one of the biggest and most established marketing automation companies, which makes it easy to launch and manage marketing campaigns. Marketo offers everything marketers need including tools for automating inbound marketing, lead management, social media marketing, sales management dashboards as well as analytics. The good-ish news for you is that what Tom giveth, Tom cannot always take away. You have the source code, safe on GitLab. Additionally, since many people have contributed to the database of build strings over the years, I'd feel a bit ashamed to take that away, so here's that database dumped into a JSON file. I would encourage anyone to take up the challenge and continue the desire I had those many years ago, to establish a truly authoritive build list.
