This is especially effective of course if the content you’re sharing is relevant to your own business, and if you’re sharing it to or with a group of your target audience. If you share highly relevant content on Facebook and your target audience clicks on it from your Snip.ly link, chances are they’ll also be interested in your content and opt-in offers. Use Snip.ly to add calls to action to all of the relevant content you share.
Do you have an older list that you suspect has mostly decayed? Create an engaging opt-in message and send it to your old list encouraging contacts who wish to re-opt-in -- promising to remove all contacts who don't respond. Though it might seem counterintuitive to remove folks from your email lists in order to grow them, emailing only engaged contacts could improve your deliverability and increase the odds of your email getting shared with those outside your current contacts database.
But if you are not professional in this field, or short of time I suggest you use online platforms for creating your videos, as they’re safer, easy to use and also much more beneficial. One of them you can try is RenderForest. It’s an online video production tool, that has both free and paid versions. You can create either your own videos with the help of various templates or order a completely new video. Below are some template examples:

This web-based video editor will help you create inspiring digital stories out of still photos or audio recordings. It has a user-friendly interface and offers a selection of tools to make video editing really easy. You can create texts slides, crop your photos and edit your audio files. Moreover, WeVideo is available as a mobile app, giving you an opportunity to create amazing videos on the go.
How to videos, tutorials or educational content are fantastic ways to engage with your target market and keep your customers happy. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on expensive equipment – simply shoot a tutorial on your phone and quickly edit and cut using a video marketing tool like Clipchamp Create. If you’re showing software or web content, you can screencast to record what happens on screen.
Calls to Action Should you tell people to click right away or save the CTA for further along in the email? Should the button/link say “Click Here” or “Find Out More”? When it comes down to getting people to take action (the most important part of marketing), you simply must test a variety of elements to improve conversions, as this is one of the worst elements to leave to guesswork!

That said, in an age where tens of thousands of websites are offering content-based lead magnets, you will almost never generate any buzz with a content-based lead magnet. Ebooks are just old news. Checklists, blueprints, and market reports are nothing to write home about. People interested in the topic will absolutely download it, but they probably aren’t going to get excited and tell everyone they know about it.
Outbound marketing is when a marketer contacts prospects, hoping for engagement. Tactics can include advertising on search engines, paying website publishers to post your ads or sending emails to lists of leads. Businesses that primarily want to reach out to customers in these ways should look for applications that offer email and/or mobile marketing functionality. Most marketing automation platforms include outbound email marketing capabilities. You could also consider lead generation and lead management solutions.
Since 2012 Slidely has given people the ability to create video slideshows or music videos from your existing photos, music or video clips. You can then directly post your new slideshow onto Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest. There’s also widgets and badges so you can embed the clip onto a blog or website. What makes Slidely stand out is it’s also a social network where the community can share and view each other’s work.

To get started, find the top 5 -10 content pages on your website and create a custom Content Upgrade for each post. Once that’s done you can continue on down the list until you have a Content Upgrade for every page on your site that receives a good amount of traffic each month (note: ‘good’ is in context of your website, your traffic and your business – for some businesses it’s 100 visits per month on a content page, for others it’s 1,000).
You don’t have to worry about Google or Facebook suddenly changing their algorithms, because once you have someone’s email you have the ability to communicate with them one on one. Even if all of Foundr’s search rankings and social media presence disappeared tomorrow, we’d still be able to promote our brand and our products to the thousands of people on our mailing list.
I’ve seen all the video marketing stats and, yet, the numbers never cease to amaze me. I mean, I never thought video could take off how it has, but I am loving it. It is such a great tool for marketers of all sizes, especially the smaller businesses and brands. Anyway, I really love lists like these because you, as you know, you can never have too many tools to make a variety of several different types of videos.I have tried Powtoon and Renderforest and really like them. But I look forward to trying more on this list but would love to add another one here, if that’s cool. I’ve been using slide.ly/promo and they have footage that you can choose from. They have a ton of stuff including animated clips too. Thanks again for this great list.
You might be doing all the right things to generate leads -- landing pages, gated content, contests, and more. The problem might be that the design or copy itself isn't driving the engagement you need. A/B test (also known as "split test") different aspects of your list-building campaigns with different versions of the same content. This includes the call-to-action text, the color of the gated offer, the time of day you're posting to social media, and even where on your website these signup forms are placed. Sometimes a small change can drive hundreds more conversions.
Returns a value like v, with placeholders created by make-placeholder replaced with the values that they contain, and with placeholders created by make-hash-placeholder with an immutable hash table. No part of v is mutated; instead, parts of v are copied as necessary to construct the resulting graph, where at most one copy is created for any given value.

Woah. This is a great list! Must have take ages to make. I think you should add DrumUp (http://drumup.io/content-discovery-social-media-management-tool) to your list of Content Curation Tools. It’s a free tool that is great for finding content related to your keywords. It also lets you schedule curated content or your own posts on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
I applaud your initiative in putting together a list like this. The research going into it had to have been gruesome. However, as you point out, it is not exhaustive. Just as an example: you missed MailChimp which is one of the most used email platforms; DrumUp which I use in addition to Hootsuite as a scheduler because of the ease of scheduling posts to a Facebook business page; Medium is an excellent blog publishing platform; and more. Not a criticism of your work, which I love because it points out options I have not yet explored. More a reminder to everyone else that no list like this is exhaustive.
This is a process described by Seth Godin known as permission marketing. The core concept of this idea is that you never market to someone that doesn’t want it, you first have to ask them for their permission. When someone signs up to your email not only do they become a warm lead but they give you their permission to send them offers and to market to them.
Buffer – This one is the simplest and most practical for the purposes of promoting content since it will automatically try to share the content you pop into its feed to your social profiles at the most relevant time, maximizing exposure. The main downside they scaled back on their free plan so now you’re limited to connecting 2 or 3 social media profiles before they required you to upgrade. Regardless, it’s still very affordable and worth the $20 per month they charge.
Hi Pawan, what a fantastic compilation! I know what i’ll be doing this week – checking out the items on your list! Thanks so much for sharing. My I suggest an add to your list – CrossCap Marketing Calendar Software – omni-channel marketing calendar that allows marketing stakeholders to collaborate and outline strategy, execute initiatives, and track performance in a single system. Feel free to check it out: https://www.crosscap.com/marketing-calendar
You've probably noticed some funky build strings pop up on BuildFeed lately. That's because a Microsoft employee posted them on BuildFeed. For those interested parties, don't bother coming to me. I have no IP logs, I have no "inside" insight as to what our mutual friend has been up to. Could you find out who it is? Sure, just look on Twitter and see who was posting build tags ahead of BuildFeed. He's not been remotely discreet and he handed out the strings to plenty of others before BuildFeed accepted them.
With digital marketing you can target your specific audience. You can even use something called a lookalike audience on Facebook to target customers like the ones you already have. This audience is built from your email list of customers that you already have. Facebook will take these emails and find customers on Facebook that are similar to your existing customers. You also don’t have to target your existing customers with Facebook ads – you can completely exclude them! Using a lookalike audience will mean that your ads are being seen by more qualified leads which can ultimately lead to more sales and building lifetime relationships with loyal customers.
Inbound marketing gets buyers to find you. This is done by providing interesting, helpful content on websites, blogs or social media that engages buyers. Businesses using inbound marketing tactics should look for software that helps optimize marketing content for Web search (so that buyers can easily find it) and provides lead nurturing functionality—for example, inbound marketing automation, content marketing or search marketing applications.
When I think about the brands I like best, like J. Crew, Spotify, and SoulCycle, I know I’m not a loyal brand advocate because of their products alone. I can get cheaper clothes, music, and groceries from plenty of other places. Ultimately, I’m a brand advocate because I believe in what they promote and I feel invested in their stories, like SoulCycle’s: “We aspire to inspire. We inhale intention and exhale expectation.” I relate to their brand messaging.
Pop-up forms provide visitors with a quick, convenient way to share contact information and subscribe to your list while they’re browsing your site, making them a powerful tool for audience growth. They’re easy to add to your site, and they’re proven to work—our research shows that Mailchimp users have seen their list growth rate increase by an average of 50.8% after adding a pop-up form to their site.
