I applaud your initiative in putting together a list like this. The research going into it had to have been gruesome. However, as you point out, it is not exhaustive. Just as an example: you missed MailChimp which is one of the most used email platforms; DrumUp which I use in addition to Hootsuite as a scheduler because of the ease of scheduling posts to a Facebook business page; Medium is an excellent blog publishing platform; and more. Not a criticism of your work, which I love because it points out options I have not yet explored. More a reminder to everyone else that no list like this is exhaustive.

This post reminds me of when I used to do marketing dance clubs and bars. Often time the owners of the bars had no idea about owning a bar, they were self employed contractors with a skill that made them alot of money. Most times than not, their Bar or Club venture did not. In marketing their venture they would take a shot gun approach and try and advertise it as everything to everyone! So every night of the week they had a special thing. I would say look you are a contractor and you do plumbing right. You don’t do carpentry or lay carpet. No would be the answer but I could! I’ve tested the Welcome Mat and Smart Bar apps as well but they didn’t produce anywhere near the conversion rate of the List Builder and Scrollbox apps (note: that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t test them on your site… it’s just that they didn’t perform that well on our site with the setup we used so we removed them so not to distract the visitor too much while we figure out new ways to test them).
