I would agree with that statement and here’s why you should too. According to research from the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) email returns $40 for every $1 spend on average. In addition, the same study found that email marketing has a buy rate 1000% higher than social media (such as Facebook and Twitter), and double that of organic search engine marketing (SEO).
Why It Is Important: “We used to have a long process of content research, creation, design, revisions, etc. It has now been streamlined to allow anyone on our team to”design” a lead magnet for our clients. This tool has well-designed templates to choose from, you can customize colors, layout, etc… and it makes it way easier for our copywriters to put together the entire lead magnet. This speeds up the launch process and saves us money.
When we share a content to someone , we expect them to experience the content in the way we intended. Well, it’s just not possible with plain old text/link sharing as in that; when the person at the other end click the link it’s going to lead them directly to the content leaving your intended reason to share and your opinion about the particular content to pure chance to be received as it is.
Everything PR. In January of 2013, Everything PR put together a list of 100 Content Marketing tools. While it’s one of the most comprehensive lists, I have seen, it doesn’t strictly list “tools” in the sense of technologies. Many of the entries are resource sites and blogs such as the Content Rules Blog, or events such as Content Marketing World 2013. While such resources can be helpful for marketers, they are not strictly tools. The list also makes no attempt to organize and group tools together.
For subscribers who may have been on your list for a longer period of time, a small incentive or discount will often get them talking. Marketers should capitalize on word-of-mouth marketing by incorporating email sign-up on viral components, such as features that allow site visitors to forward products, services, wish lists, information online, notifications and more to their friends.
Hi Pawan, what a fantastic compilation! I know what i’ll be doing this week – checking out the items on your list! Thanks so much for sharing. My I suggest an add to your list – CrossCap Marketing Calendar Software – omni-channel marketing calendar that allows marketing stakeholders to collaborate and outline strategy, execute initiatives, and track performance in a single system. Feel free to check it out: https://www.crosscap.com/marketing-calendar
Digital marketing builds trust with users. You can use social proof like testimonials from previous customers on your website or star ratings in order to show shoppers what others think of your products. Patagonia displays their ratings for every product on their website and breaks it down by stars. As you can see they have 64 five star ratings on this product. Since all of these reviews are accessible to the shopper they can browse and read through all of them if they want. This is something you just can’t do with traditional marketing or even in-store shopping. It would be immensely difficult to show 60+ reviews in a magazine for your product.

Use a reactivation campaign to gauge whether non-responsive subscribers are still reading (just not clicking through or tracking open rates), or if they’ve truly decided to opt out. An example from MarketingProfs is shown here. The language you choose can play a big role in how successful these campaigns are, so be sure to split-test a few versions to maximize response.

Pop-up forms provide visitors with a quick, convenient way to share contact information and subscribe to your list while they’re browsing your site, making them a powerful tool for audience growth. They’re easy to add to your site, and they’re proven to work—our research shows that Mailchimp users have seen their list growth rate increase by an average of 50.8% after adding a pop-up form to their site.
Big data enables companies to better target the core needs of customers by developing rich and informative content. Let’s understand how it helps companies collect data about customer behaviors. One example is cookie files. They collect information about customers’ activities as they browse the internet, generating personalized data in the process.
The timing of this closure has everything to do with the internal pressures I mentioned and nothing to do with the external pressures such as Microsoft. Were Microsoft not placing any pressure on BuildFeed, I doubt there'd be an issue, but it's also true that had I not made some mistakes in the past, there would be little to no internal pressures and we wouldn't be looking to close either.
Infusionsoft provides comprehensive and cost-effective marketing and sales software for small businesses. As part of its marketing suite, Infusionsoft offers marketing automation and e-commerce tools as well as CRM. Infusionsoft makes it easier for small businesses to convert leads with its all-in-one solution. To put these numbers into context: a myriad of data compiled on Twitter shows that the average click-through rate rarely tops 1.64 percent. Without paying for promotion, the average Facebook post is even worse. This is compared to email open rates, which hover around ~20% for many industries and can go up to as high as 40, 50, and 60 percent (and beyond!).

(Here's how to create a complete marketing plan, from your Unique Selling Proposition through advertising and promotions planning.) And if you are starting from square one and need to write a business plan, this Business Plan Outline will lead you through the process step by step.)
Offer a reward for customers who buy something from you and show that they checked in at your business on Foursquare using their mobile device. When they do this, they’re telling everyone in their network that they’ve done business with you. Each month, reward the person who gave you the greatest exposure by offering a discount, and asking for their email address.

An event landing page, beacon technology, and email follow-up software are all valuable for marketing your event, but integrating them can be difficult. When it comes to any form of conversion optimization, social proof is one of the more powerful ways to boost conversions. People like to join in things that are already popular and they are TERRIFIED of “missing out”. Social proof is so powerful, it’s kickstarted an entirely new brand of ecommerce called social commerce, where stores and social networks partner together to create an almost communal shopping experience.
Saber Blast – This is the simple and intuitive email marketing software I created after I got tired of using Aweber and Mailchimp. Most people don’t know about it since it’s still new but if you’re on the market for an email marketing solution, this offers a lot of valuable features that the competition doesn’t. For instance, Saber Blast helps you increase the number of email subscribers you capture, provides automated follow-up (easy to manage autoresponder) and recommendations on who is and isn’t a lead from your email list based on their engagement levels. At it’s core, it’s designed to grow your business. It has minimal features when it comes to the design of your newsletter since we believe that’s actually a distraction from taking the revenue-growing action of creating great content to quickly and painlessly send to subscribers.

I found that building a buyer’s list and not a freebie seeker’s list made all the difference in the world of being online part-time as a hobby, to going full-time which I love. It allows me the freedom to take my family members to doctor’s appointment or meet my sister for lunch, when I want to. It’s a beautiful thing. Thanks for sharing! I shared some of your images on my Pinterest profile =). Kristie
Derek at MadWire is awesome. Social media marketing seems easy, but it definitely isn't easy at all! Navigating all the challenges of determining your key messages, supporting artwork and visuals takes time and talent. Derek has the talent and he is generous with his time and ability to explain why we are advertising in a certain way. Derek is patient and really committed to helping our business succeed and grow through social media marketing. I'm thankful to be working with him.

The best way to approach a giveaway is to offer something that’s valuable to your target market. For example, when you’re building an online cooking community, giving away kitchen appliances might be a great way to attract an audience. Of course, there might be a subset that is only interested in the price than what else you have to offer, but in the end using Giveaways can bring in a lot of new leads.

When using big data for price setting, companies need to remember that they may already have plenty of unused data at their disposal, such as customer preferences and general economic information. The challenge is how to derive valuable insight from this information. For example, does your pricing strategy consider what products a particular customer has purchased over the last five years? What is their disposable income? How much can they afford to pay for a product? Additionally, does your pricing strategy consider macroeconomic indicators like quarterly GDP growth rate, inflation rate, exchange rate, interest rate and government spending of the countries you operate in? Incorporating these insights will lead to better pricing decisions.
I had also felt the same things which spurred Matthew to create a blog that contained actionable material. At that time, guest blogging was in much vogue with established sites like Problogger, Copyblogger, Johnchow accepting filler content in the name of guest posts. If 6 posts went live each week, 5 of them would be guest posts with rehashed content.
Inbound marketing gets buyers to find you. This is done by providing interesting, helpful content on websites, blogs or social media that engages buyers. Businesses using inbound marketing tactics should look for software that helps optimize marketing content for Web search (so that buyers can easily find it) and provides lead nurturing functionality—for example, inbound marketing automation, content marketing or search marketing applications.
By sending out highly targeted and personalized campaigns, you will be better able to engage your members or prospective members. We know that the more relevant the piece of communication is to the recipient, their engagement with your association will increase. By working with GRC Direct, you will be able to effectively target and track your direct mail communications so you know what’s working and what isn’t working. You will be able to communicate on a whole different level that will let your members know you are listening to what they are saying.
It is true that the reader’s demand for business to deliver excellent content continues to increase. Seventy-five percent of content marketers increase their content marketing investment, this is because today’s all-digital and all-round internet. Most people now prefer to see ads on the internet using gadgets or on pc rather than on tv or radio channels. About content marketing I have recommendations for good and quality marketing content for your business http://www.contentfactory.biz
The best part about email marketing is that you can set up an email campaign to automatically send emails to your customers. These are called email automations. You can set up welcome email automations welcoming your customers or giving them a discount for their first purchase. This is a great way to get them in the door to try your product out. You can also send abandoned cart emails that will email customers when they leave something in their carts. This method of retargeting customers is something that many large companies do to capture those missed sales.
Industry knowledge and analytical thinking are both key to online marketing success. However, if you aren’t willing or able to actually execute your plans, you’ll never succeed online. Do you frequently start projects or tasks but then fail to complete them? Do you prefer the planning stage of tasks to the actual execution of those tasks? Do you get excited by research, but lose steam when it comes to implementation? If so, online marketing may not be the career path for you.
How to launch an online course and make $220,750 in 10 days – this article is a complete breakdown of how Bryan Harris made $220,750 launching his email marketing course. It includes the entire process he went through from building the list, to launching the product. As you can see from this post… it’s epic. Plus he uses a Content Upgrade that includes templates he used to launch his course. Very compelling.
It’s not as clear cut as it seems. There are many content marketing tools that fall into multiple categories, but I have placed them in the category that best represents them. For example, Marketing AI measures analytics for your content, then helps you better optimize your content. In this case, should Marketing AI fall into the Analytics or Optimization tools group? In this case, I placed them in the Analytics group. However, Parse.ly is a relatively similar tool I decided to place into the Optimization category.
Adobe Premiere Clip is a mobile video editing app (available on both iOS and Android devices). Once you have selected your images and video clips, you can let Adobe Premiere Clip create a video for you automatically or create a highly customized video yourself. You can change the music, edit the image and video clips, add titles and transitions, and more.
I’ve seen all the video marketing stats and, yet, the numbers never cease to amaze me. I mean, I never thought video could take off how it has, but I am loving it. It is such a great tool for marketers of all sizes, especially the smaller businesses and brands. Anyway, I really love lists like these because you, as you know, you can never have too many tools to make a variety of several different types of videos.I have tried Powtoon and Renderforest and really like them. But I look forward to trying more on this list but would love to add another one here, if that’s cool. I’ve been using slide.ly/promo and they have footage that you can choose from. They have a ton of stuff including animated clips too. Thanks again for this great list.
This is super actionable and thorough. I find the difficult part is coming up with an actual series for the autoresponder, and moving people towards a sale, vs saying “oh, that was nice.” I find many articles devoted to the lead magnet and landing page, without much attention on the autoresponder series – which can actually trigger a sale. Thank you for sharing your email template.
Create a Facebook ad with engaging content that speaks to your target customer. What do they want? Are they looking for more information about something? Is there a question or pain point they need help answering? Your lead magnet should be solving one of these needs. Therefore, your ad needs to clearly call out that need, and then effectively explain how and why you have the solution.
If your needs are more pedestrian, try a simpler solution. Direct Response, for instance, performs simple conversion tracking and is much more affordable. There’s also an open source Web analytics tool called AWStats that tracks traffic, referrers, and other data. If you use Google or Overture to target users by sponsoring keywords, you can measure sales with their free conversion-based tracking tools.
People like more choices, so consider creating subscription levels that let people sign up to receive content that’s relevant to them. For example, if you sell widgets and tax advice, provide three options on your opt-in form that allow users to sign up to receive info about widgets, info about tax advice or both. Further customize by allowing them to designate how frequently they’d like to hear from you — weekly, monthly or only when something really special is going on. People may be more likely to sign up for your email list if they have some control over the content they’ll receive.
Don’t read everything at once. There is a lot of great information in here, but it’s easy to feel overwhelmed after reading through all of the content in one sitting. Instead, take incremental steps. For example, if you want to find out where or how to ask people for their emails on your site, read the content in chapter 2. Implement it, then come back later for the next steps.

If you’re serious about growing your business, building a healthy email list should be one of your top priorities. When it comes down to it, your list is one of the only online assets that you have 100% control over. Having a solid social media presence is absolutely essential (here’s why), but you’ll always be at the mercy of new and changing algorithms (think Facebook’s Edgerank). And achieving high search engine rankings is great too, but again, you’re at the mercy of changing algorithms and updates.
Ever since I first time heard that you can get free traffic from a thing called Google, I wanted that. But, I had no idea where to start. And what was even worse, every “great” tip I’d receive from an “experts” was a complete BS that only sounds nice, but could never be used by real businesses. Most of those things are considered black-hat now. That’s how “great” those tips were.
